Different Genres of Music You May Or May Not Have Missed

Music calms us and connects us. Although I know same music can have different genres and it is a very subjective so this is according to the people on the internet and us. One song you might want to put into country while I would want to refer it as pop. But anyway the effect different genres of music, whatever it might be, puts in a wonderful mood.

1. Country Music

Country music originated in the 1920 and has its roots from American folk and western music. It is formed using instruments ranging from electric and steel guitars to drums and mandolin or mouth organ.

2. Jazz

Jazz originated in the African-American communities of New Orleans, Louisiana in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with its roots in blues. It is a vibrant and influential genre of music with a lively and iconic style.

3. Punk Rock

This music genre emerged in the 1970s. The most common and define-able characteristics of punk music are short and fast songs and simple melodies.

4. Techno

This music that we have heard often, has evolved significantly over the years. With great advancements in technology, this genre of music has gotten a lot better, allowing artists to experiment with new sounds, techniques, and production methods.

5. Electronic Dance Music

Greatly popular among DJs and concerts. It’s created by adding several tones sometimes even 200 beats per minute!

6. Rock music

This music started actually around string instruments but now is played on a variety of instruments. The super loud and strong beats of this different music genre makes it popular among younger generation.

7. Indie Rock

As the name suggests, it falls in the category of Rock music. Originated in the 1980s, it is short for independent rock.

Again hugely popular among youth. This genre is loosely defined by catchy beats, energetic guitar players and strong lyrics.

8. Rhythm and blues

This too originated in the 1940s as popular African American music with heavy beats. A mix of jazz and African black folk music, the melodies and the beats reflected the emotional experiences of the music composer and singer.
