Although I love the smell of a new book, visiting our school library used be one of my favorite things growing up. The shiny brown racks and that one ray of sunshine falling upon the books, wow.

But let’s agree it’s not possible to visit a library everyday. I feel libraries are becoming more of meuseums now. So to be practical, these websites are the best and allow us to read whatever book we want without burning a hole in our pockets.

Everyone knows this one. Not a lot of ebooks are free here but you can easily find classics from authors like Charles Dickens and Agatha Christi.

The reviews will allow you to choose which ones are worth a read.

They have a wide variety of categories to choose from ranging from fiction to autobiographies to science and technology. They also have a blog which is updated regularly. So if you have a hankering to read and want to save some money too, try this.

3. Project Gutenberg

Every bookworm must have heard of this vast digital library with over 60,000 books.

You have the ability to choose among free epub and Kindle eBooks, download them or read them online.

One will find the world’s great literature here, with focus on older works for which U.S. copyright has expired. Thousands of volunteers digitized and diligently proofread the eBooks, for you to enjoy.

Perfect place to listen to the books.

It’s a non-commercial, non-profit and ad-free project powered by volunteers.

PDF Books World library is a high quality resource for free PDF books, which are digitized version of books that attained the public domain status.

Last but not the least, the big K. I know many ebooks are priced but a lot of these are free too. The product along with the vast library is a pretty good investment if you are an avid reader.
